Afreeka J. Van

Founder Of Dignity Of Personhood

My Story

I am dedicated to ensuring that everyone understands that they are due dignity. I have been in education for over 20 years, working within school districts and corporate offices. All of my life, I have had a passion for people and wanted to make a difference. People bring many nuanced behaviors, some very challenging. But it is my belief, everyone is searching for a connection, a place to belong. My efforts may appear altruistic but are authentic.

In 2020, I had an idea and a desire to do more. The idea led me to start Dignity of Personhood. My company is currently partnering with districts with the intent in developing inclusive learning environments for all students.  The goal is to increase student achievement through growing educators' practice.

My company is working towards community outreach through partnerships that are looking to support mental health, education and overall daily living.

My scope is not limited to my current occupation. It is beyond. I seek to influence the daily life of individuals who deserve dignity. By doing so, it impacts the spaces in which each person ventures.

I have three beautiful children and a dynamic husband Quinton. My oldest, Jayden, is studying Psychology at an Historically Black College and University. Simone, 14, and Frankie, 13, are both very active in school and sports. We reside in lovely Las Vegas, Nevada.
